Larry David was born on 2 July 1974 near the Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn, New York. He has done his studies from the Sheepshead Bay High School and then from the University of Maryland, from where he attained a bachelors degree in history (1969) and then in business (1970). He was married to Laurie Lennard and has two daughters- Cazzie and Romy. He along with his ex-wife, who is an environmental activist, wrote blogs for The Huffington Post.

He is a former stand-up comedian who worked as a limo driver and a TV repairman to meet his expenses (of bills). He then started writing and acting for the TV show ‘Fridays‘ (1980-1982). He then became a writer of ‘Saturday Night Live’ (1984-1985). He created ‘The Seinfeld Chronicles’ as a teammate of comedian Jerry Seinfeld in 1989. The show was re-titled ‘Seinfeld‘ and it became one of the most successful shows of American TV. He also appeared on this show occasionally, playing roles like George Steinbrenner and Frank Costanza’s lawyer. He left the show in the seventh season but returned to write the series finale in 1998. He also continued to do the voice-over for the character of George Steinbrenner.

His creation, ‘Larry David: Curb Your Enthusiasm’, was aired on HBO cable television as a one hour special on 17 October 1999. This led to ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm‘ TV show. He is portraying a fictional version of himself in this show. The show is based on Larry’s life, after he has earned his fortune and has little work in his almost retired life.

He was also involved with other TV shows and films. He has written and directed a film ‘Sour Grapes’ in 1998. He appeared in minor roles for the films ‘Radio Days’ and ‘New York Stories’. He has a starring role in a yet to be released comedy film ‘Whatever Works’. He and his daughters have appeared together in one episode of Hannah Montana. He had made a cameo appearance in ‘Entourage‘.

He has been nominated for three Golden Globes, has won nine different awards besides having been nominated for twenty-eight other awards. In 2003, he was nominated for the Golden Globe Awards in the category of Best Performance by an Actor in a TV Series-Musical or Comedy for his work on ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’. He was again nominated in the same category of the Golden Globe Awards for the same series in 2005 and 2006. He also earned twenty for Emmy Awards nominations in various categories for Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm, between 1991 and 2008.
